Mail and Calendar updated with Fluent Design (v 17.8700) - Download APPX

Microsoft is pushing a new update for Mail and Calendar apps, which introduces some Fluent Design guidelines.

What's new?

With this update, Mail and Calendar are getting some Fluent Design love. You can see on the left side panel the Reveal Effect when hovering items with the mouse.

Moreover, you choose to not fill the entire window with the background image, that panel has Acrylic brush.

I must admit I not quite sure if this is new, but the overall design for dark and light themes seems different. For instance, the dark theme no longer uses grey colors. The listed emails use a pure black color, and the selected email uses a slightly grey color. It also seems there are much fewer borders around elements, making the app look much cleaner, especially on light theme.

Despite this version is rolling for mobile devices, it doesn't have any of these effects, so it seems it's only available for PCs at the moment. Considering the terrible performance of fluent design on mobile devices, I don't know if I want it anyway...
