Microsoft is working on the next feature update for Office mobile apps, which should be public in August/September. These updates are only available for Insiders on Fast Ring, while Insiders on Slow Ring seem to be testing earlier version 17.8326.xxxxx.

With update 17.8414, the mobile apps on PC's have fluent design guidelines on left side panels. However, those effects are not available on phones.
