Windows Store updated with Fluent Design (v. 11705) - Download APPX

Microsoft announced a new design language on Build conference, Fluent Design, and several Windows built-in apps already got Fluent Design elements on their UI. It seems the company is now working on Windows Store and preparing it to implement the new design guidelines. The new app version is only available for Insiders, but you can download the APPX file below and sideload it on Production builds.

What's new?

The new app version has some visible changes.

  • The app's listing on main page have slightly bigger badges and the background color is now greyish.
  • Under Downloads and update the apps listing also have a greyish color.
  • The apps name are now bold
  • There's certainly more changes, but they are minor. This update seems as a preparation to implement Fluent Design guidelines.

Update: With 25th May's major update (v1705.1001.16), Store got a revamped UI with fluent design. This is an early development stage, and there is a long way to achieve the design presented on Build conference.

Update (6th July): Store is getting another small update (v1705.1001.30). No visible changes, so probably it only contains bug fixes and enhancements.
